The event took place ahead of the 24th APECSmall and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting (SMEMM) and related meetings,which are scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 10-15.
P&G affirmed its long-term commitment in Vietnamthrough a partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to helpVietnamese firms improve competitiveness and innovation.
Deputy director of the ministry’s EnterpriseDevelopment Agency Nguyen Hoa Cuong said one of the top priorities of theVietnamese Government from now to 2020 is developing SMEs as the engine ofeconomic growth.
Improving the capability of Vietnameseenterprises will bolster Vietnam’s integration and connectivity with other APECeconomies, he said.
“Vietnam is one of P&G’s important markets”,Vice President and General Manager at P&G Asia-Pacific Omar Channawi said.
He went on to say that “We are proud to continueour unwavering commitment to support and grow with local enterprises in asustainable way”.
“Vietnam is among the first nations in Asiawhere P&G introduces both P&G SME Leadership College and SignalAccelerator,” he added.
He hoped that these programmes will helpVietnamese SMEs increase their competitiveness, innovation and managementcapabilities, as well as grasp business opportunities.-VNA
