Washington DC (VNA) – The US and Indonesia on September 14 inked amemorandum of understanding (MoU) on strengthening counterterrorismcooperation.

According to a press release bythe US Department of State, US Coordinator for Counterterrorism AmbassadorNathan A. Sales and Chief of the Indonesian National Counterterrorism AgencySuhardi Alius signed the MoU in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Under the document, the twocountries will enhance collaboration in the fight against terrorism byimproving the exchange of information and best practices and by buildingcapacity through cooperative training and education.

Indonesia was the last leg ofSales’ tour of Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, todiscuss the fight against global terrorism and intensify cooperation inaddressing the challenge.-VNA
