US repeals anti-dumping administrative review on Vietnam’s steel nails

The International Trade Administration under the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has published a notice announcing that the department rescinded the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain steel nails from Vietnam for the period between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017.

Hanoi (VNA) – The International Trade Administration under the USDepartment of Commerce (DOC) has published a notice announcing that thedepartment rescinded the administrative review of the antidumping duty order oncertain steel nails from Vietnam for the period between July 1, 2016 and June30, 2017.

On September 13, 2017, the DOC published in the FederalRegister a notice of initiation of an administrative review covering each ofthe 19 producers or exporters named by Mid Continent Steel & Wire, Inc. inits July 31 review request.

However, on September 28, 2017, the petitioner withdrew its administrativereview request for each of the 19 companies.

Pursuant to 19 CFR 351.213(d)(1), the DOC will rescind anadministrative review, in whole or in part, if the party, or parties, thatrequested a review withdraws the request/s within 90 days of the publication ofthe notice of initiation of the requested review.

As Mid Continent Steel & Wire, Inc. withdrew its request for review by the90-day deadline, and no other party requested an administrative review of thisorder, the department is rescinding this review.

The DOC will instruct US Customs and Border Protection toassess the countervailing duties on all appropriate entries at rates equal tothe cash deposit of estimated anti-dumping duties required at the time ofentry, or withdrawal from warehouse, for consumption, during the period.-VNA
