HCM City (VNA) – Wa💧lmart, the largest supermarket chain in the US, wishes to support women ent꧒repreneurs across the world, including Vietnamese ones, said Jocelyn Tran, Regional Senior Director for Walmart Global Sourcing in South-East Asia.

Tran spoke at a workshop on January 15 in Ho Chi Minh City , recently organised by Walmart and the Vietnam Trade Facilitation Alliance (VTFA) including the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Trade (VCCI), and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).
Walmart will use more resources supplied by women-run firms while providing training services to enhance their capability and skills, she added. Director of AmCham Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City Herb Cochran said domestic enterprises are very proactive in seeking opportunities to integrate into the international arena.
Experts said Vietnamese suppliers need to meet international standards in order to enter the global supply chain. Walmart representatives met with approximately 50 domestic firms on the sidelines of the event to talk about the potential partnership. Most of them are operating in garments and textiles, leather footwear, furniture and food.-VNA
