USAID funds project reducing risks from avian flu

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided 800,000 USD for a project to reduce risks from avian and pandemic influenza and other emerging infectious diseases in Vietnam.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) hasprovided 800,000 USD for a project to reduce risks from avian andpandemic influenza and other emerging infectious diseases in Vietnam.

The project will be implemented by applying the One Health approach from now to September 2015.

USAID, the United Nations Development Programme, and the VietnameseMinistry of Agriculture and Rural Development will work together tocarry out the project.

Vietnam has implemented One Healthsince 2010. It involves applying a multidisciplinary and cross-sectoralapproach to address risks that originate at the animal – human –ecosystem interface.-VNA
