To promote the traditional silk weaving craft along with tourism, Van Phuc Ward in Hanoi’s Ha Dong district recently launched the 2024 Van Phuc Culture, Tourism, and Trade Week. The event is also intended to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Ha Dong’s establishment.
Under the theme "Ha Dong Silk Village – Quintessence Convergence," the event aims to honor local artisans’ contributions to preserving and developing the craft village.
The week, featuring various cultural performances, folk games, and commercial activities, also aims to create opportunities for exchange and collaboration among businesses, artisans, and visitors.
During the opening ceremony, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade presented to the ward a certificate recognizing it as a Creative Design Center for OCOP products.
The week, running through December 6, will include a ceremony to honor the weaving craft’s founders. Besides, it features cultural events such as traditional water puppetry shows, folk singing, and thematic streets, like Silk Street and Flower Street./.
