The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) announced the figure in the Vietnam Annual Business Report 2015, which it released at a business forum in Hanoi on April 13. Overall, the average annual income of labourers nationwide grew from 28 million VND in 2007 to 74.6 million VND in 2014. The VCCI study also reported an increase of 2.5 times in the average turnover per labourer for all businesses in Vietnam during 2007-15. The average turnover rose from around 482 million VND in 2007 to roughly 1.2 billion VND in 2015, equivalent to an average growth rate of 12.1 percent per year.
In 2014, the average turnover per labourer of electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioner producers and distributors reached about 4.3 billion VND per year, topping all sectors. Wholesale, retail and motorcycle repair ranked second with an average turnover of some 3.1 billion VND per labourer per year. Ore mining ranked third with an average turnover of 2.2 billion VND per worker per year, followed closely by banking and finance with more than 2 billion VND per employee per year.
The average turnover in banking and finance has declined continuously during the 2012-14 period, after previously taking our the top position for a number of years.-VNA
