Vietjet sees positive performance in nine months

Budget carrier Vietjet has recorded positive results in the first three quarters of 2021, with gross profit totaling 44.5 billion VND (1.93 million USD), according to its latest financial statement.

Hanoi (VNA) – Budget carrier Vietjet has recordedpositive results in the first three quarters of 2021, with gross profit totaling44.5 billion VND (1.93 million USD), according to its latest financialstatement.

The airline reported air transport revenue of more than 1.36trillion VND (59.2 million USD) in the third quarter of the year, following itsefforts to break even.

In its consolidated financial report, Vietjet posted its revenueat 2.65 billion VND from July to September and accumulated revenue for the first nine months of 2021at 10.21 trillion VND.

Vietjet’s assets totaled nearly 50.95 trillion VND by theend of September. Its debt-to-equity ratio stayed at as low as 0.8 while theliquidity ratio was at 1.06 – all were within the safety margin and consideredgood indicators in the aviation industry.

The carrier has transported about 6.4 million passengers onnearly 37,000 flights in the first nine months of the year, retaining itshighest quality service with the On-Time Performance (OTP) rate reaching 99.7percent. All Vietjet flights have strictly followed COVID-19 preventiveregulations.

Vietjet also celebrated the first anniversary of the VietjetGround Services Center (VJGS), which served up to 4.5 million passengers on25,217 flights and transported 64,031 tonnes of cargo.

The airline has vigorously invested in technology adoptionand digital transformation, renovated, and upgraded system operation protocolswhile enhancing cost and fuel-saving management in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Vietjet Aviation Academy (VJAA) has increased itse-learning activities to save costs and ensure pandemic prevention efforts.There have been hundreds of courses provided to over 5,700 learners, includingthe courses for pilots, cabin crew, flight dispatchers, engineers, and groundservice employees.

In term of cooperation, the airline has reached an agreementwith its strategic partner of Airbus on the delivery of 119 ordered aircraft bythe end of 2028. They would also work together to develop Vietjet’s wide-bodyaircraft fleet in addition to substantial post-pandemic support in maintenanceand pilot training.

Vietjet now has resumed all of its routes connecting Hanoiand Ho Chi Minh City with other localities to meet rising demand of travelingfast and safely. The airline is ready to resume regular commercialinternational flights in the coming time.

Vietjet recently has announced plans to operate three directservices connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang with Moscow, Russia,starting mid 2022 by Airbus’s modern A330-300 aircraft. This is the first stepin realising Vietjet’s ambition to enter the European market, fulfilling the travellingdemand between Vietnam and the world and contributing to the country’s economicdevelopment./.
