Vietnam adopts implementation plan for ILO convention on forced labour abolition

Vietnam has sketched out specific tasks and roadmaps to implement the Abolition of Forced Labour Convention (C105) of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), under a plan approved recently.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has sketched out specifictasks and roadmaps to implement the Abolition of Forced Labour Convention (C105)of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), under a plan approved recently.

According to the implementation plan, the Ministry ofLabour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) will coordinate with ministriesand agencies to popularise the convention and related domestic legalregulations among employees, employers, people, agencies and organisations.

They will also review, adjust, supplement or issue newregulations to seriously and effectively fulfill requirements of theconvention.

Training courses will be organised for employees, employers,businesses, cooperatives, agencies and organisations, helping to raise theircapacity in the fight against forced labour.

The MoLISA will issue guidelines on the implementationof the document from 2021 to 2023, and build a database in support of the work,along with mechanisms of inspection and supervision, and the handling ofviolations during the implementation from 2021 to 2025.

It will also boost cooperation with countries, internationaland non-governmental organisations during the implementation, which will be reviewedin 2025./.
