Vietnam attends 21st World Congress of IUFoST in Singapore

The 21st World Congress of the International Union of Food Science & Technology (IUFoST) is being held in Singapore from October 31 – November 3, attracting over 1,200 delegates from 60 countries, including Vietnam.

Singapore (VNA)😼 – The 21st World Congress of the International Union of Food Science & Technology (IUFoST) is being held in Singapore from October 31 – November 3, attracting over 1,200 delegates from 60 countries, including Vietnam.

The IUFoST groups over 70 member associations representing food sci-tech industries, linking over 200,000 food scientists and engineers worldwide.

Themed “Future of Food – Innovation, Sustainability & Health”, the congress features discussions on the latest strides in food sci-tech.

ಌ According to the organising board, the IUFoST has received nearly 1,000 scientific reports, and 250 of them will be presented at the event and 450 others in poster presentations.

An exhibition of outstanding products selected for the final round of the Global Food Industry Award is also held. The Young Scientist Award and the Food Sustainability Idea/Concept Development Competition are held to encourage the involvement of young people globally in the field. The Vietnam Food Science and Technology Association joined the IUFoST in 2000 and has actively attended its world congresses. This year, Vietnam submitted 10 scientific reports and made two presentations at the event, including a report on Vietnam’s sustainable agriculture development strategy. On this occasion, two Vietnamese products entered the final round of the Global Food Industry Award, including ColosBaby Gold from VitaDairy Vietnam, and Beta Glucan – reishi mushroom-derived pills from Nam Linh Chi Co. Ltd. The next congress will be held in Rimini, Italy, in September 2024./.
