Singapore (VNA)ꦏ - Some 14 Vietnamese leading food enterprises are joining exhibitors from 15 countries and territories at the Asia- Pacific Food Expo (APFE) 2015, which opened at the Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre, Singapore, on November 20.

On display at an exhibiting area of 10,000 square metres are top-quality products, including processed food, beverage, confectionery, ice-creams, tea, aquatic and poultry products, vegetables, seasoning, among others.
According to Vietnamese Trade Counselor to Singapore Nguyen Viet Chi, APFE offers a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to seek and enlarge trade relations with their partners, which helps promote exports to Singapore and other markets in the region. Despite global economic recession, Vietnam- Singapore trade revenue in ten months ending in October reached 3.1 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 30 percent, Chi said, highlighting that Vietnamese agricultural products such as rice and coffee are being sold at Singapore’s supermarket chains like Giant, Fair Price and Sheng Siong.
Honourary President of the Singapore Food Manufacturers’ Association (SFMA) Steven Ng affirmed that Vietnamese products have good quality. SFMA pledged to support promotion and business activities to encourage the presence of made-in-Vietnam commodities in Singapore while promoting Singaporean business operation in Vietnam, he said. The fair, which expects to attract 500,000 visitors, will run until November 23.-VNA
