Vietnam attends eco-building expo in Singapore

Representatives from nearly ten Vietnamese businesses were amongst the 10,000 participants representing 400 firms from 35 different countries in the 7th Build Eco Xpo (BEX ASIA) taking place in Singapore from September 1-3.

The expo, a leading business forum forconstruction material suppliers, construction companies, architects anddesigners in the region, showcases the latest in environmentallyfriendly materials and green building technology. According tothe organising board, more than 200 business meetings are scheduledduring the three-day event along with seminars and conferences oneco-construction, technical solutions and advanced constructiontechnologies.
Louise Chua, BEX Asia project director, welcomedVietnamese businesses to the event and expressed her hope that theparticipating firms actively engage in the dialogues on eco-constructiontrends and take ideas home from the expo that can be applied inVietnam. Nguyen Viet Chi, Trade Counsellor to Singapore, saidconstruction materials, particularly floating glass and sandstone, arekey products exported to Singapore from Vietnam.
The event offersan opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to find cooperation partnersand expand their exports, in addition to learning about the latesttechnologies in the industry. In the first seven months of theyear, Vietnam generated approximately USD 200 million USD in revenuefrom exporting construction materials, Chi said. Many Singaporean companies attending the event also expressed a keen interest in the Vietnamese real estate sector, Chi said.-VNA
