Vietnam attends int’l audit congress

A Vietnamese delegation led by State Auditor General Nguyen Huu Van attended the 21st International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI) which opened in the Chinese capital Beijing on October 22.

The event, the largest yet, drew over 700 delegates who are setto engage in plenary and group sessions themed “National Audit andNational Management” and “The Role of Supreme Audit Institutions onSafeguarding Long-term Sustainability of Finance Policies”.

A declaration is expected to be issued at the end of the event, which will last until October 25.

The National Audit Office of China will host a ceremony to mark the 60th founding anniversary of INTOSAI.

Established in 1953, the group contains supreme audit bodies from theUnited Nations member countries. It now has 191 official members andfour others on probation. Its congress is held every three years.

As an INTOSAI member since July 1996, the State Audit Office ofVietnam has extended partnerships and signed cooperation deals withdozens of supreme audit offices all over the world.-VNA
