Paris (VNA) - A Vietnamesedelegation led by Assistant to the Foreign Minister Nguyen Ngoc Son took partin the 34th Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of LaFrancophonie (OIF) in Paris on November 25 and 26.

The event attracted close to 80 delegationsfrom OIF members and observers.

Spotlighting sustainable development, thetwo-day conference adopted resolutions on blue and green economies, climatechange, and dialogue and education for peace.

Participants highlighted the implementation of the Paris climate accord, theimportance of freedom, safety and security of navigation and overflight, andsettlement of disputes via peaceful measures in line with international law.

As heard at the function, its 35th edition was scheduled for October 2018 in Yerevan, Armenia, at the outset ofthe 17th OIF summit.

Speaking at the event, Son, also VietnameseAmbassador to France, said stated as a responsible member, Vietnam is willingto join the OIF activities for peace, cooperation and development.

He informed that Vietnam is running for anon-permanent seat in the UN Security Council during 2020-2021.

At meetings with the OIF Secretary Generaland heads of other delegations on the sidelines of the conference, Vietnamsuggested future cooperation contents in the sectors of farming,trade-investment, and French education.-VNA
