This was said by Vice Chairman of theNational Assembly Uong Chu Luu in Hanoi on Sept. 9 while receivingthe Canada-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group and Canadianbusinesses led by Deputy Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons BarryDevolin.

Hailing the effective assistance from theCanadian Government, Parliament and people, Vice Chairman Luu stressedthat activities by both countries to celebrate the 40 th anniversary oftheir diplomatic ties have contributed to enhancing their mutualunderstanding and friendship.

The Vietnamese hostalso praised the group for its remarkable contributions to tighteningbilateral cooperation and promoting two-way trade between the twocountries.

For his part, the Canadian guestunderlined that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam andCanada have been incessantly fostered and advanced in every sphereover the past years.

He suggested both nations continue expanding their cooperation in trade, agriculture, education, labour and high technology.-VNA
