Under the agreement, bothcountries will lift tariff on more than 9,000 products and offerincentives for their services and investment in the next three years.
It also sets provisions on market access, regulations of origin, quarantine, and technical barrier. According to Guzman, Chilean firms are keen to work with Vietnamesepartners active in agriculture, garment, footwear, food, handicrafts andconsumer goods.
Chile will be a springboard for Vietnamese firms to enter other Latin American countries, he said.
Vietnamese enterprises should engage with more Chilean partners andothers from the third countries to learn about the market, Ngo Van Phongfrom the Department of American Market of the Ministry of Industry andTrade suggested.
