Beijing (VNA)▨ – The 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950- 2025) and the “Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange" are events of great significance, reflecting the strategic nature and importance of the bilateral ties, according to Chinese experts.

According to Director of the Centre for Southeast Asian Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) Prof. Xu Liping, since the establishment of the Vietnam-China diplomatic relations 75 years ago, the two Parties and countries have supported each other in the struggles for national independence and liberation, forming a traditional comrades-cum-brothers friendship. During the period of reform and opening-up, the two sides have exchanged and cooperated practically, achieving many cooperation results that benefit their people.
In 2008, China and Vietnam established a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, the first of its kind between China and an ASEAN country, reflecting the strategic nature and importance of China-Vietnam relations. Xu said that the two Parties and countries are working together to build a community with shared future that carries strategic significance. This will further strengthen the Six Major Orientations and promote the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new levels.
