Vietnam confirms 10th case of coronavirus infection

Hanoi (VNA) –💟 One more person fromVietnam’s northern province of Vinh Phuc has tested positive for coronavirus(nCoV), bringing the total number of confirmed infections to ten, according tothe Ministry of Health.
The42-year-old female patient is receiving treatment at the quarantine areaof Binh Xuyen district’s medical centre, and is in a stable condition, theministry said on February 4. She was amongpeople who had close contact with the male patient who tested positive for thevirus earlier in Vinh Phuc. She said she hadvisited the male patient’s house for the Lunar New Year (Tet) on January 22 and28. She got aslight fever on January 31 and came to the local clinic for a check-up.She was then sent to the district’s medical centre for treatment and isolationwhile samples were sent to the National Institute of HygieneEpidemiology for testing. The malepatient was among eight people who returned from China’s Wuhan city on thesame flight. Four of them were infected with the virus. EightVietnamese people were sent to Wuhan for training by Nihon Plast Co Ltd ofJapan and returned to Vietnam on China Southern Airlines fight CZ8315 onJanuary 17. One of thepatients has now been released after doctors confirmed she was free of thevirus. Vietnam has sofar reported 304 suspected cases of coronavirus, 214 have tested negative forthe virus and 90 are in quarantine while samples undergo testing. Three affected people in Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, and Khanh Hoa havebeen discharged from hospital./.
