Hanoi (VNA) – The Finlay VaccinesInstitute of Cuba and the Vietnamese company Vabiotech on November 24 agreed tostrengthen ties in the field of biotechnology.
“A delegation from Vabiotech headed by its director NguyenAnh Tuan visited the Finlay Institute, where they discussed collaboration andfuture projects. The Vietnamese representatives were updated on the work of theinstitution,” according to a message from the Cuban institute on the socialnetwork X, as cited by Cuban news agency Prensa Latina (PL).
“In the meeting between the Finlay Institute andVabiotech, the desire to continue expanding collaboration between bothbiotechnology institutions was expressed,” the text says.
Recently, Duc Minh Medical JSC (Almedic) also signedvaccine distribution and development contracts with Cuba's leading biologicalcentres such as the Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) andthe Centre of Molecular Immunology (CIM).
Almedic has also cooperated with Da Lat PasteurVaccine Company Limited (DAVAC) to be in charge of a stage of Cuban vaccineproduction in Vietnam. It has sent many Vietnamese technicians and managers toCuba's biological centres and advanced laboratories for short-term training, andinvited Cuban experts to Vietnam for technical training for vaccine productionfacilities and quality monitoring agencies in the country./.
