Vietnam facilitates PCA’s operation in settling int’l disputes peacefully

Vietnam will create all possible conditions for the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) to conduct activities in the country so as to settle international disputes peacefully.

Deputy Minister ofForeign Affairs Ho Xuan Son and PCA Secretary-General Hugo Hans Sibleszon June 23 signed host country and letter of exchange agreements forcooperation between the Vietnamese Government and the inter-governmentalorganisation.

Vietnam will receive legal training assistanceand general information on arbitration procedure from the PCA as partof the exchange letter document.

The same day, Deputy PrimeMinister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received theSecretary-General, during which he said he hopes the signing of theagreements will help speed up the bilateral cooperation, especially inenhancing the lawmakers’ capacity.

Established in 1899, thePCA has 115 member states and is responsible for facilitatingarbitration and other forms of dispute resolution evolving in theinternational community.-VNA
