Vietnam, France agree to beef up cooperation in training civil servants

Paris (VNA) – Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Trachaired an opening ceremony of the international training course for young managersand female officials from Vietnamese localities on “improving leadership skill,digital transformation and public administrative reform” at the Normandie Schoolof Management in Le Havre city on September 26, as part of her working visit toFrance.
The minister highly valued the Vietnam - Francecooperative relationship,affirming that the strategic partnership establishment in 2013 reflected thetwo countries’ determination to further deepen the bilateral relations with asolid and long-term vision.

According to Tra,this course is a practical activity within the framework of cooperation intraining, as well as a premise for upcoming cooperation activities between thetwo sides.
For his part, Elian Pilvin, Rector andGeneral Director of the Normandie School ofManagement, said that since 2014, the school has organised trainingcourses for over 200 civil servants and managers of the Vietnamese Party CentralCommittee’s OrganisationCommission and localities ofVietnam.
After the ceremony, Tra witnessed a signingceremony of a cooperation agreement between the National Academy of PublicAdministration of Vietnam and the French school.
The agreement aims to build a sustainable andeffective partnership in training and scientific research in publicadministration, and to cooperate in human resources development, contributing to developingand modernising the public service and meeting requirements of the administrativereform of Vietnam.
The same day afternoon, she hada meeting with Mayor of Le Havre ÉdouardPhilippe, during which the French official affirmed that he is ready to doeverything to contribute to the bilateral relations.
He indicatedthat Le Havre’s shipping companies are very interested in Vietnam, and expected the two sides to exchange business delegations in this area.
He proposed the establishment of a twinning relatio𒁏nship of Le Havre witha coastal city of Vietnam towards forming specific partnerships and cooperationprojects./.
