Vietnam has established itself as the leading nation in Southeast Asia for organ transplants, performing over 1,000 procedures each year for the past two years.

Ho Chi Minh City’s annual two-day Children's Health Care programme providing free medical screening for nearly 10,000 kindergarten and primary school children will begin on International Children’s Day (June 1).

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc launched the Vietnam health programme at a teleconference participated by all 63 provinces and cities nationwide on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day – February 27.

The use of made-in-Vietnam medicines at provincial-level hospitals has risen to 35.4 percent.

The Prime Minister has approved the local healthcare investment and development programme for 2016-2020.
