Rome (VNA) – A Vietnamesedelegation led by Acting Chairman of the National Financial SupervisoryCommission (NFSC) Truong Van Phuoc has paid a working visit to Italy, aimin🅘g tostrengthen bilateral cooperation in financial supervi🎐sion.
During the visit from October 22-26,the delegation met with Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Italy SalvatoreRossi, along with officials of agencies under the Italian Securities andExchange Commission, and the Ministry of Economy and Finances. It also paid a courtesy visit to Senator Pier Ferdinando Casini, Chairman of theItalian Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. The two sides shared experiences infinancial institutions in the scope of each country’s supervisory agencies,supervisory measures and co-ordinating mechanisms in internal agencies and withothers in financial security networks. They also agreed to enhance ties inactivities of both financial supervision and financial institutions while increasinginformation exchange about bank and stock market supervision. Additionally, the two sides decidedto boost human resources training and technical support in financialsupervisory activities and research on issues of mutual concern. Italian officials also sharedexperiences in public debts management and public budget balance with theirVietnamese counterparts, along with measures to stabilise financial andcurrency markets in crisis and fiscal policies of the European Union, amongothers. For his part, Casini stressed thatthe bilateral relationship has been thriving, vowing to enhance cooperation ofthe two countries’ agencies in various fields.-VNA
