The Vietnamese Embassy in Italy is ready and willing to promote a higherlevel of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long made the statement during a meeting withthe newly-elected Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino in the capital onSeptember 6.
He said that forums and meetings should be heldbetween the embassy and Rome authorities, enterprises and businessassociations to exchange information about both countries, learn thedemands of each side and identify areas of potential cooperation.
The ambassador suggested city authorities support Vietnam in sendingbusiness delegations to Rome and vice versa in order to establishpartnership and investment ties.
Vietnam is eager to learnfrom Rome’s expertise in archaeology, particularly the preservation andmanagement of ancient cultural heritage, Long said.
For his part, Mayor Marino highlighted the special relationship between Rome and Hanoi.
He said that he wants the Italy-Vietnam relationship to grow in thefuture, especially between the two capitals, so that benefits can befelt in many fields.
He stated that economic ties should beparticularly targeted, adding that Rome promotes internationalisation inthe city and so encourages Italian enterprises to establish bilateraltrade cooperation deals with ones from Vietnam.-VNA
