Hanoi (VNA) – The closer relationship between the Vietnamese and Japanese friendship parliamentary groups has supported the two governmen🍌ts’ activities, promoted pܫeople-to-people diplomacy, and ensured the efficiency of cooperative projects.
Chairman of the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group To Huy Rua made the remark at a reception for the Special Advisor to the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Tsutomo Takebe in Hanoi on June 6.
Rua expressed his pleasure to meet Tsutomu Takebe, a close friend of Vietnamese people, and spoke highly of his active role in encouraging cooperation activities between Vietnam and Japan in various fields.
He said Vietnam will continuously nurture and develop the two countries’ rapport for the sake of their people as well as peace, stability and prosperity in Asia.
The official also hailed the parliamentary ties between Vietnam and Japan, saying the two sides have successfully realised a lot of ideas, notably bringing Vietnamese lotus to Japan and completing the construction of Japan – Vietnam University in Vietnam.
He said his group pledged to support the operation of the Japan-Vietnam University as well as cultural exchanges between the two countries, adding that he believes in the university’s future development.
Such activities as cherry blossom and cultural festivals will help promote the two nations’ people-to-people exchanges, he noted.
For his part, Tsutomu Takebe said he was delight to return to Vietnam and highly valued the comprehensive development in relations between Japan and Vietnam and particularly of the two friendship parliamentary groups.
He informed the host that the first MA training course of the Japan-Vietnam University will commence on September 9, 2016.-VNA
