Vietnam-Japan economic cooperation dialogue held in Tokyo

– The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) organiseda dialogue on economic cooperation between Vietnamese localities and relevantagencies and businesses of Japan in Tokyo on November 8.

Theevent saw the participation of secretary general of the Mekong-Japancooperation committee and head of the JCCI’s International Division KazutoSasaki, and representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA), Japanese firms and Vietnam’s Bac Lieu, Kon Tum and Yen Bai provinces.

Speakingat the dialogue, Sasaki said Japanese enterprises have a great interest inVietnam, adding over the past years, the Mekong-Japan cooperation committee andthe JCCI have organised various delegation exchanges and workshop on Vietnam’sinvestment environment.

Heexpressed belief in the potential for cooperation and development of Vietnameselocalities.

NguyenHoang Long, head of the department of external relations under the VietnameseMinistry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the strong development of collaborationbetween Vietnamese and Japanese localities, which has become a pillar of theVietnam-Japan strategic cooperation, especially in trade, investment, agricultureand human resources development.

Officialsfrom Bac Lieu, Kon Tum and Yen Bai provinces representing the South Western,Central Highlands and North Western regions of Vietnam briefed the dialogue onadvantages of their localities, and noted hope for more Japanese investments./.
