Vietnam, Japan seek new areas in labour cooperation
Vietnam plans to boost cooperation in skilled lalour and health care privatization, which is a good chance for Japanese firms, said Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung at a meeting with representatives from more than 100 trade unions of Japan in Tokyo on December 22.

Tokyo (VNA) – Vietnam plans to boostcooperation in skilled lalour and health care privatization, which is a goodchance for Japanese firms, said Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social AffairsDao Ngoc Dung at a meeting with representatives from more than 100 trade unionsof Japan in Tokyo on December 22.
The minister held that Vietnam and Japan are enjoyingfavourable conditions in labour cooperation as Vietnam is experiencing a goldenpopulation period with 60 percent of population are in working age.
Currently, the country has about 191,000 unemployed universitygraduates, along with about 3 million people in need of being cared for, henoted. Therefore, Dung called on Japanese enterprises to invest in building nursinghouses for old people in Vietnam.
This is a new cooperation model between the two countries,which is expected to benefit both sides, he said. In 2016, Vietnam has surpassedChina to become a country exporting the largest number of workers to Japan.
Representatives from the Japanese trade unions raised twoproblems of high unemployment rate among Vietnamese students returning from trainingcourses in Japan,and Vietnamese workers’ violation of Japanese businesses’ regulations.
Minister Dung said that Vietnam is working hard to tacklethe issues, noting that the Vietnamese Government plans to hold a dialogue with277 firms specialising in sending labourers abroad to find out difficulties facingboth businesses and workers for specific solutions.-VNA
The Vietnam Association of Construction Contractors (VACC) and the Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. (OCAJI) have sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral cooperation.

A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
