Vietnam-Japan student exchange programme to begin

A Vietnam-Japan student exchange programme will take place in the Japanese prefecture of Nagasaki from July 9-20, with four teachers and 26 high school students in Ho Chi Minh City taking part.

HCM City (VNA) – A Vietnam-Japan student exchangeprogramme will take place in the Japanese prefecture of Nagasaki from July9-20, with four teachers and 26 high school students in Ho Chi Minh City takingpart.

Participants will have a chance to visit new energy plantsand labs, experience industrial production in Nagasaki and attend modellectures in local universities.

Speaking at the working session with the Industry and Trade Associationof Nagasaki on June 9, permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee Le Thanh Liem expressed his wish that Nagasaki would actively assistthe city in vocational training and human resources quality improvement to meetdemand for local socio-economic development.

Takushima Toshio, President of the association, saidNagasaki is strong in industry with high technological standard and acontingent of skilled engineers.

The association wants to establish a solid relationshipbetween the two localities’ education and industry sectors, thereby increasinghuman resources for Vietnamese and Japanese small and medium-sized enterprisesin the future, he said.

Nagasaki business representatives also committed to soon launchingcooperation programmes with Ho Chi Minh City’s vocational trainingestablishments.

Both sides agreed to intensify collaboration acrossindustry, high-tech agriculture and fisheries processing.-VNA
