Vietnam, Kazakhstan boost cooperation in public security

Hanoi (VNA) - Minister of Public Security To Lamheld talks with Karim Massimov, Chairman of the Kazakhstani National SecurityCommittee (NSC), in the capital city of Astana on April 19, as part of theMinister’s visit to the Central Asian country.

At the talks, the host and guest talked about securityaffairs in the world and in each nation.

In a bid to boost cooperation between the Vietnam Ministryof Public Security and the NSC, the two sides agreed to increase the exchangeof delegations at different levels, hold more bilateral consultations, shareexperience in anti-crime, and collaborate in training law enforcement officers.

They agreed to coordinate to ensure security for thecountries’ diplomatic representative agencies, trade-investment activities, andexpatriate citizens.

The sides highlighted they will exchange information andsupport each other at multilateral forums and related organisations.

Massimov said he expects the Vietnamese minister’s visit tomark a milestone in the two agencies’ cooperation, contributing to Vietnam – Kazakhstantraditional relations.

Lam said Vietnam considers Kazakhstan an important partnerin Central Asia and is willing to connect the country with the ASEAN region.

Lam took the occasion to invite Massimov to visit Vietnam.The latter accepted invitation with pleasure.-VNA
