Vietnam keen to boost cooperation with China in security

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s Defence Ministry attaches importance to boosting and preserving the neighbouring, friendly, cooperative and development relations with China, especially the relationship between the border guards and coast guards of the two countries, said Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich.
The two sides need to promote and coordinate joint patrols at sea, on land while boosting friendship exchanges between the two countries’ border guards and organising annual Vietnam-China friendship bord🎶er defence exchange activities more practically, Minister Lich told Chinese Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun, in Hanoi on September 26.
Minister Lich, who is also a Politburo member and Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, highlighted the close collaboration cooperation between two ministries, saying it has played a core role in cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples of the two countries.
On his part, Minister Guo, who is on a visit to Vietnam, spoke of good friendship between China and Vietnam, emphasising that this has laid solid foundations for promoting and developing cooperation in other fields.
The effective cooperation between the Chinese Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence in general and between the two countries’ border guards and coast guards in particular has contributed to maintaining security and order at sea and creating a border line of peace, friendship and development.
In upcom♕ing time, the border guards and coast guards of the two countries will continue boosting coordination in fighting types of crimes such as illegal border-crossing, and drug, weapon, and human trafficking as well as experience sharing in participating in the United Nations’ peacekeeping missions.-VNA
