Vietnam, Lao embassies in Singapore mark relations anniversary
The embassies of Vietnam and Laos in Singapore joined hands to organise an evening get-together on July 1 to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5).

Hanoi (VNA) - The embassies ofVietnam and Laos in Singapore joined hands to organise an evening get-togetheron July 1 to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomaticrelations (September 5) and 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-LaosFriendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18).
Speaking at the event, VietnameseAmbassador to Singapore Nguyen Tien Minh reviewed the path that Vietnam andLaos have taken through together.
He stressed that the traditional friendship,special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos havebeen thriving in all fields, contributing to the development of both nations aswell as to promoting peace, security and cooperation in the region.
Minh said the upcoming anniversaries areoccasions for Vietnamese and Lao people, particularly younger generations, tounderstand and foster the bilateral ties.
Lao Ambassador to Singapore KhonephengThammavong said he hopes the exchange will encourage young staff of the twoembassies to try their best in boosting cooperation between their countriestoward effective outcomes.
During the evening, Vietnamese and Laosignature music were performed on stage.
Earlier the same day, young personnel at thetwo embassies took part in a friendly football match.-VNA
The Presidents of the front organisations of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam signed a tri-lateral cooperation programme for the period 2017-2020 at their third conference held in Hanoi on June 25.
