Vietnam, Lao Party commissions boost ties

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations in collaboration with its Laos counterpart held a friendship exchange from July 25-27 in Laos’ Khammuane province, aiming to strengthen their cooperative ties and promote the Vietnam-Lao traditional relations.

As the eighth event of its kind, theexchange offered a chance for representatives from the two commissionsto update information and share experience in foreign affairs. Culturaland sport exchanges and art performances were included in the event.

Addressingthe event, Sunthone Sayachath, Head of the Lao People’s RevolutionaryParty Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, said thisis a traditional activity between the two agencies and that they willwork closely to reinforce their ties to strengthen the specialsolidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

Inhis speech, Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for ExternalRelations Hoang Binh Quan highlighted the significance of the event,saying it is necessary for the two sides to learn from each other andthus improve their leadership and consultancy capacity.

Theevent will help the two commissions’ young staff to gain a deeperunderstanding of the two countries’ land, people and culture, Quanadded.

On the occasion, the two commissions’ representativespaid tribute to and laid wreath at the Vietnamese President Ho ChiMinh’s Memorial Site in Xiangvang village in Nongboc district and theLao General Secretary and President Kaysone Phomvihane Museum inKhammuane province.

The two commissions are scheduled to organise a similar exchange in Vietnam’s central Nghe An province from July 28-29.-VNA
