Vientiane (VNA) - Minister of Information and CommunicationsTruong Minh Tuan and Lao Minister of Information, Culture and TourismBosengkham Vongdala discussed measures to strengthen bilateral partnership inthe future during their talks in Vientiane on November 2.
The two sides agreed thatinformation cooperation between the two sides has been fruitful, contributingto deepening mutual understanding and solidarity between the two nations.
They have worked together toreport visits of leaders of both countries, while exchanging TV programmes,documentary films, publications, and affiliating in holding activities tocelebrate major events of each country, they noted.
The two ministries havecoordinated closely in sharing experience in designing policies on Statemanagement over information, and training media staff, for Laos with threecourses held in 2017.
The two sides agreed that regularexchanges of media staff have helped the two sides popularize news of the respectivenation, people and socio-development achievements, thus strengthening mutualunderstanding and solidarity between the two peoples and developing bilateralties.
Joint projects in radio andtelevision fields have been implemented effectively, improving the coverage of radioand television programmes to all areas of Laos, serving the country’s informationand popularization activities.
In the coming time, theyagreed to continue prioritizing and increasing exchanges of high-level delegationsand reporters, while sharing experience in media profession and management.
Vietnam will continueproviding short-term support to Lao officials in press and publishingactivities management and organization.
Vietnam and Laos will continueincreasing exchanges of media programmes, encouraging media agencies to build cooperationplans with Laos and creating optimal conditions for them to popularize news ofthe ach country, especially in important events.
At the same time, the twosides also concurred to back media agencies, publishing houses and televisionchannels of both countries to foster direct partnership to share technology andexperience.
They will also continueproposing affiliation contents through the Inter-Governmental Committee, thusassisting the implementation of projects to improve the capacity of radio andtelevision stations of Laos.
Following the talks, ministry leaderssigned a plan of actions that will serve as a foundation for the establishmentof a joint working group to coordinate and implement cooperation in informationbetween the two countries in the future.-VNA
