Vietnam, Laos move to step up sports cooperation

Vietnam will help Laos continue with the second-phase of construction of its national sports training centre in 2010 and 2011.
Vietnam will help Laos continue withthe second-phase of construction of its national sports training centrein 2010 and 2011.

This is part of a cooperationprogramme signed between the visiting Minister of Culture, Sports andTourism Hoang Tuan Anh and the Chairman of the Laos National SportsCommittee, Phouthong Seng Akhom, in Vientiane on March 12.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two countries will send athletesto compete in each other’s tournaments and encourage national andprovincial sports associations to increase exchanges and cooperation inthis field.

Vietnam will train two postgraduate and one doctoral-level manager forthe Lao sports sector and enhance the sharing of information related tophysical training and sports.

During his three-day visit wrapping up on March 14, Minister Anh isscheduled to visit the construction site of the national college ofmusic, work with the General Department of Tourism of Laos and call inat a number of cultural relic sites in Vientiane./,
