A workshop on sharing experience in improving the quality of consultations and support provided to the National Assembly (NA) between representatives from the Vietnamese NA Office and their Lao counterparts took place in Vientiane, Laos on August 11.

Addressing the event, Lao NA Vice Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane highlighted the significance of the workshop, saying it offers a chance for the two agencies to review the recent implementation of cooperation agreements between the two offices and discuss future orientations for their links.

The event contributed to promoting affiliations between the two NA offices, thus fostering the traditional relations between the two Parties, States and NAs, he added.

The workshop focused on issues related to consultations in preparing agendas for NA meetings and NA Standing Committee’s sessions.
Law building work to prepare for joining the ASEAN Community, scheduled to be set up by the end of this year, were also on the table.
