The event features over 200 pavilions, including120 booths set by Vietnamese firms, offering a wide range of commodities suchas garment-textile, footwear, agro-forestry-fishery products, handicraftproducts, processed food, electricity, electronic products, mechanics,chemicals, construction material, fertiliser, industrial plants, cattle-feed,crop varieties, pesticides, and veterinary medicine.
Other activities are held as part of the air tohelp businesses increase trade and investment in the respective markets.
The organising board coordinate with the Embassyof Vietnam in Laos, the Vietnamese Trade Offices in Laos and Thailand, theDepartment of Asia-Africa Market under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, theUdon Thani Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, the Association of Thailand-VietnamBusinesses, the Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Thailand’s northeasternprovinces to study market in Thailand’s northeastern Udon Thani and Laos’northern Luang Prabang.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fair onJune 30, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Defence Deputy Minister, said thisis the fourth time the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence and Ministry ofIndustry and Trade have coordinated with the Lao counterparts to host the event.
He described the fair as an important political,economic and social event to promote friendship and collaboration between thetwo peoples.
It also creates a good chance for businesses andparticularly military-run firms to seek partners and expand relations in Laosand other members from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), headded.-VNA
