Hanoi (VNA) –𝓰 Measures to speed up digital transformation in health care, finance-bankingand small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were discussed at symposiums heldon December 15 in the framework of the 2020 Vietnam Digital Transformation Day(DX Day 2020).
SMEs are havingopportunities for digital transformation, and it they cannot capitalise onupcoming chances for digital transformation, they will be lagging behind and evenbe wiped out, according to experts. The process isprojected to help the firms bolster growth, cut down on expenses and developsustainably in the digital environment. Figures of the VietnamSoftware and IT Services Association (VINASA) showed that about 15 percent ofSMEs across the country is carrying out digital transformation but up to 99percent of surveyed SMEs said they are facing capital shortage for the work. The Ministry ofPlanning and Investment (MPI) partnered with the US Agency for InternationalDevelopment to launch the Linkages for SMEs (USAID LinkSME) project earlierthis month, aiming to support effective digital transformation of firms for the2021-25. Under the project, at least 100,000 SMEs will receive technicalassistance. A representative ofthe MPI said the portal digital.business.gov.vn serves as a channel providingknowledge on digital transformation and linking enterprises. In the field ofhealthcare, deputy head of the Information Technology Department at theMinistry of Health Nguyen Truong Nam said that the COVID-19 pandemic had provedthat digital transformation is vital in the management and operation of medicalestablishments. The health sector aimsto apply digital technology in most of its activities and services by 2030, towardsthe formation of a smart health care system. Medical facilities areurged to bolster technological application and build interconnected database toreduce time for checkups and costs./.
