Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, made the remark at a conference in Hanoi on August 7 to review Vietnam’s first-ever participation in UN peacekeeping activities.
The Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre reported that the first two officers, Lieutenant Colonels Mac Duc Trong and Tran Nam Ngan, were sent to act as liaison officers at the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan on May 27, 2014.
