Hanoi (VNA) – The 220kV Xekaman1-Pleiku2 transmission line in Vietnam’s territory, which transmits electricity from Laos to Vi🥂etnam, became operational on April 12, according to the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVN NPT).
The event is part of the electricity sector’s activities to celebrate National Reunification Day (April 30).
With the transmission line, Vietnam’s southern region will receive hydroelectricity imported from Xekaman 1, Xekaman San-Xay and Xekong 3 power plants.
The transmission line begins at the border between Vietnam and Laos and reaches the 500KV Pleiku 2 power station, crossing Ngoc Hoi and Sa Thay districts and Kon Tum city in the Central Highlands of Kon Tum together with Chu Pah and Lagrai districts and Kon Tum city in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.
The project to build the 119.5 kilometre power line also included the construction of an optoelectronic repeater in Dak Kan commune, Ngoc Hoi district, which monitors the line.
EVN NPT attributed the project’s success to effective coordination among relevant agencies, sectors and organisations.-VNA
