Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam logged 175 new COVID-19 cases,including five imported and 170 local infections, over the last six hours to12:pm on July 2, raising the national count to 17,902, according to theMinistry of Health (MoH).
Among the new domestic infections, 151 were found in Ho ChiMinh City, 10 in Phu Yen, three in Hung Yen, two in Long An and one each in TraVinh, Hai Phong, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh. Of them, 143 were detected inquarantine and locked-down areas.
The number of cases since the fourth COVID-19 wave hit thecountry in late April amounted to 14,505.
The number of recoveries totalled 7,247, while the death toll remained at81.
Among active patients undergoing treatment, 260 have tested negative to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 138 twice and 89 thrice.
More than 234,000 people, who had close contact withCOVID-19 patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions, are underquarantine across the country./.
