Vietnam reports one imported COVID-19 case over last 24 hours
A 22-year-old Vietnamese woman returning from the United States became Vietnam’s only new COVID-19 case over the last 24 hours, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – A 22-year-old Vietnamese woman returning from the UnitedStates became Vietnam’s only new COVID-19 case over the last 24 hours,according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention andControl.
Thenew case brought the national tally of COVID-19 to 1,421, the committeereported on December 23.
Thenew patient arrived at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on December 21 andwas immediately put into quarantine in the capital city.
Shetested positive for the novel coronavirus and was sent to the National Hospital forTropical Diseases No.2 for treatment on December 23.
Atotal of 1,281 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered while the fatalitiesremain at 35.
Among activepatients, six have tested negative for the virus once, 10 twice and fourthrice.
Atotal of 16,341 people who had close contact with coronavirus carriers orarrived from pandemic-hit areas are being quarantined nationwide, with 187 athospitals, 15,038 at State-designated facilities and 1,116 at home or theiraccommodations.
TheHealth Ministry has urged the people to strictly follow the 5K motto: Khautrang (Face masks) – Khu khuan (Disinfection) – Khoang cach (Keeping distance)- Khong tap trung dong nguoi (No gathering) – Khai bao y te (Healthdeclaration) in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission./.
