The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and itsRepublic of Korean counterpart, Yonhap, have signed a five-point MoU,focusing on exclusive rights and conditions for a joint TV broadcastingproject next year.
The MoU was signed by VNAGeneral Director Tran Mai Huong and Yonhap President-cum-GeneralDirector Park Jung Chan in Seoul on November 9.
Under the MoU, the two news agencies will share experiences andtechnology in preparations for broadcasting new TV channels, jointlyconduct free-of-charge programmes and exchange TV programmes andproducts.
The two agencies also pledged to establish partnership in providingconsultation services in all fields of bilateral interests, exchangeinformation, research and consultancy projects and considerfacilitating the exchange of staffs.
Yonhap chief Park Jung Chan said at the signing ceremony that theaccord with VNA will provide a good opportunity for the two agencies topromote long-term cooperation and improve the supply of contents forthe TV broadcasting programmes to meet demand by viewers from the twocountries.
He also introduced the Vietnamese delegation to Yonhap’s new model ofoperation which aims to meet an emerging demand for information in thenew stage of development.
For his part, VNA Director Tran Mai Huong highly valued cooperationwith Yonhap in the recent past and wished for “stronger cooperation inthe years to come, thus contributing to the development of strategiccooperative partnership between the two countries in line withhigh-level commitments”.
During its five-day stay in the RoK from Nov. 9, the VNA delegation will also pay a working visit to Jeju island after Seoul./.
