Seoul (VNA) – The Ministry of PublicAdministration and Security of the Republic of Korea (RoK) (MOPAS) said it willcoordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs to organise a forum onpublic administration on December 14.
In a press release issued on December 13, the RoK ministry noted that it has cooperated with Vietnam through six memorandum ofunderstanding in the fields of digital government, natural disaster preventionand control, education and training of civil servants, and forensic science.
The Vietnamese ministry has also suggestedcollaboration in raising the capacity of local authorities, digitaltransformation in public administration, administrative reform, and personneltraining.
The MOPAS said it and some other agencies of the RoK willseek suitable cooperation methods in specific spheres at the forum.
The two sides are expected to focus their discussions onpolicies and experience in national balanced development, the concretisation ofregional information, the improvement of public servants’ capacity and nationalrecords management, among other issues, the MOPAS said, adding that workinggroups will also meet to look into cooperation plans and measures.
Ha Byung-pil, head of the planning and coordination officeof the MOPAS, said that in the context of the Vietnam-RoK relationship upgradedto a comprehensive strategic partnership, the RoK will expand substantivecooperation with the Southeast Asian nation by concretising many cooperationmeasures in public administration./.
