Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Government always welcomes and worksto remove bottlenecks for foreign investors, including those from the US,Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said on October 28.
Receiving Chairman and CEO of The Asia Group Kurt Campbell, who also formerlyserved as US Assistant Secretary of State, Deputy PM Minh hoped US enterpriseswill enhance their presence in Vietnam, particularly in the field of startup.
Vietnam always treasures the cooperative ties with the US, he said, adding bothsides have already set up the comprehensive partnership and are celebratingtheir 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2020.
He laid a stress on Vietnam’s efforts in improving the trade balance betweenthe two nations, expressing his wish that both sides will promote bilateraltrade in the time ahead.
Vietnam is currently the 27th largest importer, and the 16th biggest trade partner of the US, he added.
Campbell, for his part, said he was leading a delegation of US firms to Vietnamto study cooperation and investment opportunities in the nation.
Meanwhile, members of the delegation said they support the cooperation betweenthe two countries, and show their interest in investing in various sectors inVietnam.
On the occasion, both sides discussed regional and international issues ofmutual interest./.
