Vietnam and Russia have agreed to raise bilateral trade from 1.83billion USD in 2009 to 3 billion USD in 2012 and 10 billion USD in2020.
The agreement was reached at the talksbetween State President Nguyen Minh Triet and his Russian counterpartDmitry Medvedev following a State welcoming ceremony in Hanoi onOct. 31.

He wished the XIth Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam a success.
General Secretary Manh said Vietnam would contribute to promotingthe ASEAN-Russia cooperation and congratulated Russia on itsofficial admission to the East Asia Summit as of 2011.
He said he believed that the two countries would effectively collaborate in the regional connectivity mechanism.
