The Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum, one of the biggest bilateraltrade and investment promotion events, will take place in Hanoi onNovember 30, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced.
The three-day forum is expected to attract 300 Vietnamese and Singaporean companies, the chamber said.
The event, which aims to bring business representatives from the twocountries together, will also update Singaporean and Vietnamese firmsabout investment opportunities in Vietnam and Singapore, said VuTien Loc, the chamber's chairman.
"Vietnam is a rapidlygrowing economy that has created greater opportunities for Singaporebusinesses. Believing in the long-term economic prospects of Vietnam ,many Singapore companies have invested in the three regions ofVietnam and in many different fields," said Bobby Liu, chairman ofSingapore Business Association in Vietnam .
"This forumonce again confirms the interest of the leaders, researchers, andbusiness communities in co-operation and concrete investment between thetwo countries, particularly in the areas of financial services andbanking, education, real estate and property management services, aswell as manufacturing and supply chain management," he said.
In the first 10 months of 2011, with Singapore 's 81 new investmentprojects in Vietnam totalling 1.419 billion USD, Singapore becamethe second largest investor in Vietnam .
Singaporeinvestors are now present in most economic sectors in Vietnam, fromoil and gas exploration and industrial production, toagro-forestry-fisheries, but their main interest is infrastructure,services and real estate.
Two-way trade volume reached 10 billion USD last year, more than four times that of 2000./.
