Vietnam to build 11 hi-tech agricultural parks by 2020

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has unveiled a draft plan to set up 11 parks across the country by 2020 to research and innovate agricultural technologies.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has unveiled a draftplan to set up 11 parks across the country by 2020 to research andinnovate agricultural technologies.

According to the draft plan, the hi-tech agricultural parks (HTAPs) will be built in eight regions.

Thehigh- tech parks are the Thai Nguyen HTAP in the north-eastern region,Son La NTAP in the north-west, the Hai Phong and Nam Dinh HTAPs in theRed River Delta, the Thanh Hoa and Nghe An HTAPs in the north-centralregion, the Phu Yen HTAP on the central coast, the Lam Dong HTAP in theCentral Highlands, the Binh Duong HTAP in the south-east, and the HauGiang and Tien Giang HTAPs in the Mekong Delta.

According to thetentative master plan for their development, at least 60 percent ofevery park must be earmarked for research and experimentation anddisplay of agricultural models that use high technologies.

Theparks will undertake scientific and technological activities, trainhuman resources, and innovate agricultural technologies.-VNA
