Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam is set to be hometo 26 airports by 2030, 14 of which will be international, according to a draftmaster plan on the development of the national airport network to 2030 and visionto 2050 from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV).
Investment in the 2020-2030 period is estimated at some365.1 trillion VND (16 billion USD), and the figure for the 2030-2050 one, 866.36trillion VND.
It will be sourced from official developmentassistance (ODA), the State budget, loans from financial institutions, and public-privatepartnerships.
The Government will provide incentives for aviationinfrastructure investors and help them take the initiative in the mobilisation anddisbursement of capital.
Four new airports will be built in the 2030-2050period, including a second in Hanoi and three others in Lai Chau city in LaiChau province, Na San in Son La province, and Cao Bang city in Cao Bangprovince, all of which are in Vietnam’s north.
The priority to 2030 will be on the first phase ofLong Thanh International Airport, serving HCM City, and Terminal 3 at thecity’s existing Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
