Tokyo (VNA) – Vietnam wants Japaneseenterprises to seek business and investment opportunities in the country, saidMinister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung at talks with Chairman ofthe Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Akio Mimura on April 13.

Dung emphasised the important role of theJCCI and its Chairman in encouraging Japanese enterprises to invest in Vietnam.

Mimura expressed his desire for regularseminars and working sessions between the two countries’ managers andbusinesses.

Earlier, the Vietnamese minister chaired a talkwith several JCCI leaders and entrepreneurs, during which he answered questionsabout investing in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Government will create favourableconditions and make clear legal documents to faciliate foreign investors’operations, he affirmed.

He told participants that Vietnam iswelcoming more investors in socio-economic development, especially ininfrastructure, as the country needs at least 40 billion USD for the work overthe next five years.

Discussing the automobile industry in thecontext of tariffs being eliminated from automobiles imported from ASEANcountries by 2018, Dung said that the Vietnamese automobile market isdeveloping rapidly.

He asked Japanese businesses to reducemanufacturing costs and strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises.

Within the framework of his visit to Japan,Minister Dung also held talks with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade andIndustry Seko Hiroshige.-VNA
