Hanoi (VNA) –
An annual programme to eradicate HIV transmitted from m💮others to children is in full swing this June.

Beginning in 2004, the progamme aimed to reduce the rate of mother-to-child HIV transmission to below five percent by 2015 by ensuring access to a number of preventative services launched at medical facilities across the nation.
This month, a communication campaign is set to feature daily radio broadcasts on the benefit of using antiretroviral drugs (ARV) in early pregnancy for women who have contracted HIV, as well as information on ARV distribution locations.
Free consultation and check-ups will be organised at HIV hotbeds and in disadvantaged areas. In 2014, 57.1 percent of HIV-infected pregnant women received ARV therapy, and 64.7 percent of expectant mothers received HIV tests.-VNA
